Support Providers

National Board Certification has grown in Illinois (5,153) and in the nation (almost 100,000) due to the commitment to teacher quality by a diverse group of support providers: professional organizations, universities, business leaders, state agencies, legislators, governors, educational leaders, Regional Offices of Eduction, and parents. Each group has understood its niche and networks to recruit and support NBPTS candidates and NBCTs.

Support Providers have supported NBCTs and teachers to engage in the NBPTS rigorous process by:

• Communicating with administrators and teachers to build awareness and recruit candidates.
• Arranging support of first-time, advanced, and renewal candidates and Take One! participants.
• Managing application fees and procedures.
• Identifying funding requirements and sources.
