ACE Credit--How to Receive Credit

For Completion of the National Board Process

Please visit the NBPTS website for more information about the ACE credit. You can get a transcript with the 9 hours of credit if you are an NBCT. You can get a transcript with the 3 hours of credit if you just completed but did not achieve. You may then present this transcript to your district or university.

Your school district or university may decide whether or not they accept the ACE credit for salary schedule increases or credit in graduate programs. Check with them first before you order the transcript for a fee.

Northern Illinois University has a process for converting ACE credit for National Board Certification into NIU graduate credit for three or six hours. You may contact Dr. Elizabeth Wilkins. Click here for step-by-step instructions (pdf).

The Illinois State University Graduate School does not accept the ACE credit for any of its degree programs and does not allow for ISU to convert the ACE credit into ISU credit.
